sMALLTIME – Straight Ahead, Honest Rock
Authentic rock ‘n’ roll comes in small packages. sMALLTIME is a rock outfit from Orange County, California, with a unique brand of raw, original and message-driven energy. Their music is a cohesive mix of rock, blues and soul, with a powerful, inspirational intensity. It’s clear this four-piece band of musical veterans knows how to use their God-given talents.

As a former member of a Sacramento-based band, Steel Breeze, lead guitarist Kenneth Goorabian toured with Hall & Oates and shared the stage with such rock luminaries, such as The Who, Peter Frampton, John Mellencamp, and Kansas. He also wrote their 1983 Top 20 Billboard hit, You Don’t Want Me Anymore. Front man and rhythm guitarist, Danny Van, was lead singer in the duo, Sunday Shoes, who released four independent CD’s and toured nationally for eight years. Bass player, Ric Jara, was a member of a popular Orange County band, Blue Licorice, who opened for Blue Oyster Cult, Mark Farner and others. Drummer, Dusty Slaybaugh, played in the Sacramento-based band, Spider Kelly, who opened for such classics as The Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir, Lydia Pense’s Cold Blood and Elvin Bishop. He went on to tour nationally with The Cadillacs.

sMALLTIME has been killin’ it the past couple of years in rock clubs around LA and the OC, and has recently opened for such notables as Blue Oyster Cult and Y&T.‎ Even the band's name, sMALLTIME, slaps of irony, considering the fiery intensity of their sound and the unfailingly honest themes to their songs.

“We're just trying to write honest, timeless songs that we're passionate about. Something you can listen to 10 years from now and it still kicks ‘ya in in the head.” -Danny Van
